Wells Fargo refused to back down from Focus On the Family, even though it cost them Focus On the Family’s business. Finally, a company that doesn’t just cave in and sell out the GBLT community!
Chris Hammond, a vice president of business development for Wells Fargo & Co., the fifth largest U.S. bank by assets, said the bank provided a $50,000 grant to support the leadership counsel of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. He said it did not, however, agree to match contributions as GLAAD had advertised and Focus criticized.
“That being said, we do support many communities, and we’re proud to be a diverse organization,” Hammond said. “We’re proud of our support of the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender) community.”
And I am proud of Wells Fargo for the same exact reason.

Let’s be clear about where Ritter stands on the issue of abortion. Based on his faith and after years of reflection, he is personally opposed to abortion. However, Ritter isn’t interested in undermining Roe vs. Wade. It isn’t part of his agenda. Nor is he interested in criminalizing women or their doctors over this issue. He will enforce the law just as he did when, as Denver’s district attorney, he prosecuted those who violated the “bubble law” and damaged medical clinics and doctors’ offices.
This is what Ritter should have been saying from the very beginning before he let the “anti-choice” label get hung around his neck like a political albatross. Let’s be clear about where Ritter stands on the issue of abortion. Based on his faith and after years of reflection, he is personally opposed to abortion. However, Ritter isn’t interested in undermining Roe vs. Wade. That’s pretty simple, and pretty straightforward, and Ritter should have been saying this months ago.
The problem here is that Ritter continues to not give a clear answer on what would happen if Roe -v- Wade is overturned (which, if Alita is confirmed, is a major consideration). I don’t know if Ritter is being purposefully evasive on this issue, or if he just doesn’t have an answer to it yet. But I’d be much less hesitant to vote for Ritter if he’d come out with a firm answer to this question.
